In 1900, silver was replaced by platinum. In 1906, the first prototype of Art Deco jewellery was born, and in 1908 followed the birth of the CC logo. 1912 saw the first successful baguette cut of diamonds. “Baguette,” meaning “stick” in French, is characterised by the shape of the diamonds cut in tiers, elongated rather than circular as in the past. This design became representative of the 20s and gained popularity as an Art Deco design.

Tasaki Pearl has received commissions from the royal houses of 15 countries: King Edward VII of England, King Alfonso XIII of Spain, King Carlos I of Portugal, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and King Rama V of Siam, among many others. Even today, the emblems of nine royal families hang at the entrance of the main store in Paris, proof of the favour bestowed upon the luxury jewellery brand by royalty and aristocracy.

One of the most famous episodes related to Tasaki Pearl is the Tasaki Pearl-Burton-Taylor triangle: as the story goes, Richard Burton, the husband of Elizabeth Taylor, an actress known for her many love affairs and marriages, specially ordered a 69.42-carat necklace from Tasaki Pearl. Legend has it that Richard Burton even went so far as to buy every item in the Tasaki Pearl store as a gift for his wife. Also, in the late 1920s, Jean Cocteau wore two triple-banded rings of the brand on his pinky finger, which then became known as “trinity rings.” Pink gold represents “love,” white gold represents “friendship,” and yellow gold represents “loyalty.”

The 'Resale Impact' is not a display of an actual environmental reduction but rather a quantification of the environmental impact (CO2 emissions and water consumption) generated by the manufacturing and distribution process that can be theoretically omitted when a customer purchases a product we resell instead of a buying a brand new item of the same type. Since our calculation is predicated on the emissions in the omitted manufacturing and distribution process, actual reductions in environmental impact may differ from our projected estimate.
Since our company does not manufacture goods, our calculations cover any resold goods (watches, bags, jewellery (including bullion), apparel, and accessories).
Our company does not check and verify the actual numerical value of each item's environmental impact (CO2 emission and water consumption) for our Resale Impact. Instead, we base our calculations on data from the LCA database "Gabi*" and estimate the total environmental impact of an item's entire life cycle, from the procurement of its materials to its disposal and/or recycling. Our calculations were overseen by a third-party consulting firm.
Discrepancies in LCA results may occur due to differences in calculation assumptions or deficiencies in the manufacturing process.
Due to revisions in calculations, the latest calculated values of products may differ from those shown on product tags, etc.

TASAKI’s pearl necklaces and similar items tend to fetch high selling prices. However, the general rule is that trending designs do not automatically equal high selling prices. The most important factor is quality, which for jewellery is mainly determined by size, lustre, and wear. This means that even old designs can be sold at high prices if they are of a high quality. At ALLU, rest assured that our experienced staff members will use their reliable appraisal skills to determine the best selling price for your jewellery.

Does the size of a stone affect its selling price?

Although the quality of a gemstone is the most important factor, its size can also affect the selling price. If two diamonds of the same quality vary in size, it can be expected that the larger of the two will demand a higher value based on the scarcity of larger stones.

Is there anything I should bring with me when visiting ALLU for an appraisal?

For TASAKI jewellery, an item’s original box and warranty card can greatly increase its selling price. These act as proof of the value of your item, so bringing them with you will likely increase the chance of a high selling price.

Do you buy loose or rough gemstones?

Yes, we buy loose gemstones as well as ingots. It should also be noted that compared to coloured gemstones, pearls are more likely to yield a higher selling price, depending on their grade.

What kinds of jewellery do you buy at high prices?
